Kind Thoughts…

Catherine Projects

Kind Thoughts is my most favoritist stamp set on the retiring stamp set list.  I just love, love it.

For this card, I used Rose Red craft ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  Then, I sponged Pretty in Pink ink over the top of it.  Embossed the butterfly, cut it out and attached it with a dimensional.  Just gorgeous, huh?

Monogrammed Notecards

Catherine Projects

I love giving monogrammed notecards as a gift.  My daughter's kindergarten teacher got married over Christmas break and I made a set for her.  They went to Mexico and got hitched on the beach, so I decided to use Seaside and heat emboss the shells with Irridescent Ice Embossing paper.  Then I made a matching box.  I was pretty happy with how it came out!

Whew!

Catherine Projects

The holidays are over…sort of!  This will be a great week because we are “recovered” here in the Pooler household.  The toys and presents are put away, the decorations are packed and we have a light schedule this week.  Mostly hanging out and visiting with friends!

I do have a Stamping and Scrapbooking event on Jan. 1.  If you haven't registered, I hope you will consider it!  It's going to be a great day.  See the events page for full details.

I had some projects I was working on that I couldn't show you because they were gifts.  Guess I can show you now!

I don't know how well you can see this, but it's my kids photo in a SOAP DISPENSER!!!  Can you believe how flippin' COOL that is!!???

I simply took a photo to staples and had them print it on a transparency.  I took the soap out of the bottles, rolled my clear photo (which I cut to match the shape of the bottle) and slipped it inside.  It unrolls and then I put the soap back in.  I was dyin' over this.  Thanks to my friend, Tracey Renaud for showing me this terrific project.

I have to tell you how cute my Mother In Law is.  She opened it, and I had her open it at the same time as my BIL, and she glanced at it, saw it was a soap dispenser and said, “oh, thank you” and put it in her lap.  She didn't realize the photo inside.

It totally cracks me up guessing what she was thinking “geez, I have a weird daughter in law, giving me a bottle of soap with a ribbon around it.  What's so great about that?”  ROTFL!!!!

Then when we told her about the photo, everyone thought I was the craftiest most amazing person ever!  hehe!!!

I love crafting…

Party With Mr. Twigster!

Catherine Projects

I showed ya the party…but I didn't show you the making of the invites!  We literally spent about 30 mins. of mommy-daughter time making these!  How stinkin' cute are they!?

We used Mr. Twigster and Rainbow Sherbet paper and inside it said, “we are going to have SnOw Much Fun!”.  hehe!

Big Shot Totes

Catherine Projects

Imagine 6 kindergarteners, 2 second graders, 1 third graders and a 4 year old.  Sleeping over.  That was what my house was like last Friday night.  Yikes!  Our middle child, Alana turned 6 and what started out as, “you can have 3 friends sleep over” exploded into a Kindergarten frenzy!

We were calm enough to make these totally awesome bags!  I picked them up at the Big M…we stamped the doodle from Doodle This and their initial in craft ink , then I cut flowers from the Big Shot and I had the girls attach them with brads.  NO, they weren't SU brads…but gosh, I wish they were!  These cheap brads were so flimsy the kids had trouble poking them through because the legs were getting all bent up.  Ok, that's enough of why I stick to SU stuff.

But how stinkin' cute are they!!???

Cards for Heros

Catherine Projects

…almost.  I didn't do this with the official group, but there is a gal in my downline that is overseas in the military.  So a few weeks ago, some of my downline came over and we took a bunch of Holiday cards that I got in swaps…about 70 of them!  And mounted them to make full cards.

I think this one really shows how much fun we were having!

Here's my overseas buddy.  Odd…I usually see her with a stamp in her hand!

And here is her and her buds with our cards!  I got the biggest kick out of this photo!  I just love it!

Here is an exerpt from the e-mail she sent me:

“Got the box of cards today… It was a hit. I know the guys in the photo don't exactly look “excited” but that's mostly because it was like 40 degrees out and I made them take a photo!
It was funny, when I opened the box, everyone was interested – mail is our daily excitement – and even people I don't work with were asking for cards. It's a mostly male population here, so I was curious how they'd go over – but they're all gone, so it went well! 🙂 I offered some to one guy and he was like “sure, give me two, one for my wife and one for my mom, oh, you better give me another one for my mother-in-law.” It was hilarious. “
This is one of those times that I am so delighted to have a job that can bring such joy to me and others.
A big shout-out to my military buddy- Can't wait til you come home and we can stamp together again!  Hurry on, girl! 🙂

Monogram Card

Catherine Projects

I had a promotion for my downline to post their Stamp A Stack holiday cards so we could get ideas from each other.  I picked one name out of a hat to get a little goodie pack from me.  This is one of the items that

was in the pack.  How delicious is this card!!??

I used my Big Shot for this.  I adhered some Sweet Always DSP to a piece of Regal Rose CS then ran it through with the Top Note Die.  Then I used some of our On Board Chipboard book pieces…I adhered DSP to it, then ran it through the Big Shot with the Serif Alphabet.

I finished off the card with a Filigree Brad.  Once you use those brads, you gotta have them!  They are fab!

Rita’s Window

Catherine Projects

Have you seen labels this small?  I went to a gathering of my upline's and Rita Childs shared this really cool card.  She was so sweet to give me a copy of it.

First you need tiny labels…then you need the classic, Lovely as a Tree….Use the “guts” of the sticker sheet, but don't forget to put a bit of baby powder on it, or pat your embossing buddy on it.  When you lay it on your cardstock and stamp and sponge, then remove, LOOK at what you GET!  Holy schnikes!

Reason for the Season

Catherine Projects

What better way to celebrate the reason for this season with your loved ones than to send them your holiday wishes with this beautiful card. Embossing is always a hit year round but seems to add a special elegance and importance to Holiday cards and this card is no exception. I love how the designer embossed the sentiment on the vellum to really make it stand out as the focal point, allowing the poinsettias stamped on the white cardstock to serve as embellishments. The thickness of our cardstock vellum exclusive to Stampin' Up! allows it to stand up wonderfully to the heat from the Heat Tool.

You can purchase any or all of the supplies needed to make this card by going to my Stampin' Up! website and clicking on the Shop Now button in the upper right hand corner or by emailing or calling me.

Holiday Extravaganza

SU has a secret!  There is going to be an incredible promotion beginning Nov. 26.  Just in time for the upcoming holidays…ideas, specials and products for gift wrapping and tags, decorating, gift giving and card making.  Stay tuned!

Desktop Calendar

Catherine Projects

I worked really hard, late into the night last night and got 9 out of 12 pages done for the Desktop Calendar class on the 25th.  It came along fabulously!

For $25, you will make 12 6×6 scrapbook pages to fit into a desktop calendar.  This is my most favorite gift to give.  I always give a 6×6 scrapbook along with it, so at the end of the year, grandma can pull the pages out and have a scrapbook to keep.  Genius!

You will be able to make each page in less than 10 minutes…most are very basic, some include embossing, rubons, and the chalkboard technique.  You don't want to miss this!
