Snowy Winter Night with Susan

Catherine Christmas, CP Designs, CPD Ink, Ink Blending

Hi Everyone. Susan here with a card that uses some products from the All The Trimmings release. I'm thrilled with how this card turned out and it was actually really easy to make.

I love night time winter scenes so when I saw the deer and tree dies I knew right away what I was going to do. It reminds me of winter where we used to live. Deer were often wandering onto our property and I loved watching them.

I started by sponging Suede Shoes ink onto a piece of 4 x 5 ΒΌ inches white cardstock, keeping it lighter in the middle and darker towards the outer edges. To give the sky some more depth, I sponged some Midnight ink on the outer edges.

I made the snow bank by tearing the edge of two strips of white cardstock and then covered them with embossing paste.  Once dry, I added one directly to the sponged panel and the other was popped up with craft foam.  Using direct-to-paper, I covered white card stock with Icing on the Cake ink.  I die cut the deer and trees from this and then tucked them into the snow.  I added dots for falling snow with a white gel pen, being sure to add dots directly to the images. This gives the appearance of snow falling in front as well as behind the images.

I stamped the sentiment onto scrap card stock, hand trimming each letter and then added them directly to the card.

This is such a great release full of fun and festive images and gorgeous dies!  Thanks so much for visiting.
