XOX Background with Ashlea Cornell

Catherine CP Designs, Gallery, Projects, Stamp of Approval

Hey there everyone, Ashlea here! I'm super excited to be on Catherine's blog today to showcase this card that I created using the Hand Lettered Love Word Die and a few stamps from the Love is in the Air stamp set.

IMG-4267My favorite thing about the Love is in the Air stamp set is that it includes lots of different words in small type and also a larger fun font that you can combine to make your own sentiments. Talk about personalization!

You can make a special, custom sentiment for most anyone you'd want to send a card to. For this card I chose to create the sentiment You Are My Forever and place it on some light colored Smoke and Mirror card stock.

I wanted to stick with the pink theme (obviously) so I created my own patterned card stock of sorts by using the XOX stamp from the Love Is In The Air set. I created interest by rotating the stamp to make the pattern of horizontal and vertical XO's. I cut the card stock that I did this on with the largest stitched rectangle die included in the Postage Stamp die set. I also cut the sentiment strip with the same die to ensure the length was exactly the same.

I adhered that to a piece of  White Card Stock cut to 4.25″x 5.5″ with foam tape and began assembling the other two pieces to my card. First, I glued the sentiment strip to the bottom quarter of the patterned card front. I then glued the Love die cut to the right of the card and played with the dimension a bit by letting it hang off of the patterned card stock over onto the card base. Finally, I added just a few enamel dots…because more pink.

I hope that you've enjoyed learning about how I used these products from the Love is in the Air SOA Collection. We'd love to hear how you used them and what your favorite piece is!
