Background Stamping with Ilina Crouse

Catherine CP Designs, Gallery, Projects, Stamp of Approval

Hi everyone,  It's Ilina here today taking over Catherine's blog with a fun card using the Happiness Enclosed and Love is in the Air stamp sets along with the heart die.

IMG_0275So let's jump into how I made this card. I started with a panel from Premium White card stock measuring 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. I drew diagonal lines by connecting the top corners with a mark 4 1/2″ from the top (similar like drawing 2 diagonal lines in a square).

This gave me a central point in which I stamped one of the heart images. Next, using a gridded ruler I drew parallel lines to the ones I already had and made sure they were all equal distance from each other and that there is enough space to stamp the images in the grid space created.

I started little above and below the stamped image for that reason. Next using the grid I stamped the rest of the images using Be Mine, It's a Girl and Rocking Red inks.

IMG_1145 copyAfter I was done with the heart enclosed circles, I stamped tiny hearts and the little hearts in between the circles. Make sure your panel is completely dry, then using quality eraser erase the grid lines. Trim it down to 3 3/4″ x 5 1/2″ .Add Nuvo Drops and let it dry.

IMG_1146While my panel was drying I die cut a circle from vellum card stock and two Love dies, one from silver glitter paper and one from Midnight premium card stock. I adhered them together with the glitter paper on the top and the black on the bottom, offsetting it for little bit to create shadow look.

IMG_0278I stamped the “forever” from the Love is in the Air stamp set on Premium Midnight card stock strip using Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder.

At this point I was ready to assemble my pieces and added them to a Midnight card base.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you are inspired to create something today.
