Masked Floral Frame with Lisa Harrolle

Catherine CP Designs, Gallery, Projects, Stamp of Approval, Techniques

Hello everyone, it's Lisa here.  Catherine invited me over today to show you a card that I made using those little whimsical flowers from the Stamp of Approval Love is in the Air Collection.  Sometimes the most beautiful floral arrangements can be made with the smallest stamps included in your stamp sets.

SOA Love 001ADJ copy.jpg2Are you a little intimidated by masking?  I used to be but after I made a few cards using this technique I started to get the hang of it.  First off, I'm a little on the lazy side when it comes to cutting out masks.  I try to get away with using the fewest masking images as possible.  For this one I only cut out one image of each kind of flower and then just rotated them around to achieve this design.

1.  At the bottom right corner of this card you'll see I started by stamping  the large blue flower with Midnight ink.
2.   I stamped the pink flower next, leaving about an inch between the two.  These are the two front  flowers.  Always stamp the flowers you want in the front first.
3.  I masked the blue and the pink flower and filled in between both with another large blue flower (overlapping both masked flowers).
4.  I added a little blue flower on the end.
5.  Then I went back to the corner and continued adding flowers in this same way down the other side.
6.  I filled in with some random leaf branches by moving the masks around the design where needed.

SOA Love 008ADJ copy.jpgCPBLOGWhen you take the masks off it's like magic and the flowers all come together making a nice bouquet. This was so easy that I decided to flip the card around and do the opposite corner in the same manner. When you're finished it's time to grab those markers for some coloring fun!

SOA Love 005ADJ copy.jpgCPDblogI topped this card off with a big love sentiment from the Love is in the Air stamp set and some Postage Stamp dies.  I also added some little hearts for fun and clear sequins for sparkle.

I hope that you too can take advantage of the little flowers in your stamp sets by making your own bouquets.  If you're a StampNation member, be sure to post your finished cards so we can all see your creations.

Thanks for stopping by today.  If  you have any questions please feel free to ask in the comments section.

Have a great day!

Screen Shot 2018-01-17 at 1.38.25 PMAs I type this, I'm sitting in the RDU Airport ready to head to Phoenix for Creativation (formally CHA).

It's the largest industry trade show for companies, brick and mortar stores, online stores, bloggers, designers, etc…to take classes, go to fun events and hang out on the show floor Saturday through Monday.

This year, for the first time, CP Designs has a booth!  Plans have been in the works for about 6 months now and we are squirming in our seats with excitement and anticipation.

We have lots of amazing things planned, so if you will be attending the show, be sure to stop by our booth each day (we have different things planned on different days).

Not attending the show?  Be sure to watch your favorite bloggers as well as our Facebook page, Instagram and Twitter for updates.

We will be premiering new products – stamps, dies, etc…and our next 8 INK COLORS!  (available for purchase mid-February).

These products will be revealed at our booth on Saturday morning, so get ready!  I wonder who the first person will be to post the reveal???
