Clean and Simple Plaid Note Card with Melissa

Catherine Christmas, Gallery, Projects

Hi, everyone! I'm Melissa from Catherine's design team and I'm honored to be guest posting today on her blog. I wanted to share a card made using one of the new inks and the new background stamp from the newly released Paradise found release.

For my card today, I decided I wanted to create a bit of a masculine card. I did add some twine and gold embossing to the card, but if you wanted to keep it super masculine, you could omit the twine and stamp the sentiment using Midnight ink instead.

I started by creating the patterned paper strip. I used a strip of white card stock, the Green Tea ink, and a mini ink blending tool to create my own piece of Green Tea card stock. I then stamped the card stock with the Plaid Background stamp using Midnight ink. To complete the panel, I matted the plaid paper I created on some Midnight card stock.

I created a layer from white card stock cut to 4⅛” x 5⅜”. Without adhering it yet, I laid the matted plaid panel on the layer to decide where I wanted to place it. This allowed me to line up my sentiment just above where the plaid panel. I used the Merry Christmas stamp from the Here We Come A-Caroling stamp set from the recent Winterhaven Stamp of Approval collection for the sentiment. I stamped it using VersaMark ink then heat embossed it using Metallic Gold Rich embossing powder from WOW!.

I wrapped the plaid panel with some natural twine three times and finished it in a bow. I adhered it to the layer just below the sentiment using liquid glue. Finally, I adhered the layer, also using liquid glue, to one a white note card and that completed the card.

I hope you've enjoyed my card today.

Happy crafting!
