Everybunny Stamp Set Easter Card Making

Everybunny Stamp Set

Do you send Easter cards?  If you do, you best be gettin’ them in the mail ASAP, woman!  Yes, I am saying that to myself as well as you.  I only made two Easter Cards this year.  Hmmm…who shall I send them to?

Everybunny Stamp Set

To make this card:

  • First use a framelit (Label Framelit was used here) to cut a shape out of your 4 x 5-1/4″ layer.
  • Next, run it through your Big Shot with an Embossing Folder again to create the lovely texture.
  • Choose a piece of Designer Series Paper (I used Print Poetry Paper Stack here), cut slightly larger than your shape that you cut out of the top layer.   Adhere this to another layer cut at 4-1/8 x 5-3/8 (mine is pink pirouette).
  • Attach your textured piece with dimensionals.  Tie ribbon around it.
  • Stamp your image, color it in (here I used Blender Pens and Ink Pads), cut it out with the Oval Punch and adhere it inside the cut out “window” with dimensionals.
  • Stamp sentiment, cut it out with the Itty Bitty Banner Framelits and adhere with dimensionals.
  • Add In Color Dahlia as a darling accent.

Q & A: How do you fit your Embossing Folder

If you viewed my KISS Card from last week, you noticed that I only embossed part of the card.   I had a comment on that blog post that I wanted to answer.  I think I went so quickly in the video that it may have been hard to tell what I was doing!

Mary Ellen asked:

“Great card! How do you fit your embossing folder with the paper sticking out through the Big Shot? Sometimes the folder is small enough to rotate it 90 degrees but it didn’t appear that you did that in this video?”

Big Shot Embossing

Thank you so much for your question, Mary Ellen!  I only embossed part of the cardstock layer here.  You are right, if I turned my embossing folder sideways, it wouldn’t fit into the Big Shot.  The Big Shot opening is 6-1/4″ and the Embossing Folder is 6-3/8″.  So the folder is just a tiny bit too big to go through sideways!

I inserted my cardstock so that about 2/3 of it was inside the folder, making sure that the folder and the extra cardstock hanging out of folder was less than 6-1/8″ wide.

If you want to know how to use the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine, view my blog post and video showing you how.

Hope this helps!  I always love questions…you know if you are thinking it, at least 10 other people are too, so leave me a comment any time letting me know what is on your mind!

KISS Card with Creative Elements Stamp Set

KISS Card with Creative Elements Stamp Set

It’s time for another KISS Card!

Keep It Simple Stamper

This card uses stamping and embossing with your Big Shot for a fun and interesting background.  When you have a background this cool, you don’t really need much more on your card!  Well…unless you really wanted to add a ton more!

Usually when I make these cards, I make four at once…this time I only made one in the interest of time.  I like to keep my videos fairly short for your viewing pleasure.  Once the camera stopped rolling, I continued stamping and used the same exact idea and layout, just changing up the colors and stamps to show you a whole new idea.

When making a card like this, be sure to stamp FIRST, then put your cardstock through the embossing folder.  And, YES!  you can emboss partial pieces of cardstock!

Check out your stamps and inks and see what you can come up with…I bet you’ll have fun and make a great card to give to a friend.

Here’s another sample for you. This one pairs more earthy colors with some great images from the Summer Silhouettes Stamp Set.  I think this card would look stunning, too if you wanted to stamp the leaves in a dark blue or black, don’t add the flowers and tie some twine.  You could give one like this to a guy!

  • Summer Silhouettes Stamp Set, Blooming with Kindness Stamp Set
  • Cardstock:  Cajun Craze, Whisper White

Vintage Verses – Simple Card Stepped Up!

Vintage Verses Stampin' Up

There is something about orange and blue together that make me happy.  Light blue, to be exact.  And Pool Party and Pumpkin Pie to be even more exact!  It’s fresh and lovely and makes me feel happy.

Well!  Now that I got my feelings out of the way, let’s chat about this card.

It is the same card that I showed you yesterday.  yep, it is!

I just used different colors, different stamps and I tweaked up the design just a bit. Looks like a totally different card, doesn’t it?  I love it!

Vintage Verses Stampin' Up

I started by stamping my verse from the Vintage Verses Stamp Set and the fun swirls from the Elements of Style Stamp Set to accent it and punching it out with the 1-3/4″ Circle Punch.  I used one of the fun circle die cuts from the Delicate Doilies Sizzlet to put behind it.

My 4 x 5-1/4″ piece of Pool Party Cardstock was dry embossed with the Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder and when I used the 1-3/4″ Circle Punch to punch a “window” in the Designer Series Paper, the texture peeking out totally knocks my socks off!

A little stripey Pumpkin Pie DSP on the top and bottom, a piece of ribbon and a flower dyed with the Pumpkin Pie ink pad finish this card off.

Clean and Simple: Stampin’ Up Hearts a Flutter Rainbow Banner Card

Stampin' Up Hearts a Flutter Rainbow Banner Card

What kinds of cards are you busy making right now?  I have heard a lot of my paper crafting friends have been working on Valentine’s projects lately.

I have a great idea for a treat bag for my kiddos…I got so excited about it that I actually went out and got some Valentine’s candy for my kiddos!  We never give them Valentine’s goodies.  Is that lame?  I’ve started the project, maybe I’ll finish it today…maybe tomorrow.

TODAY let’s talk about this fun rainbow banners birthday card!

Stampin' Up Hearts a Flutter Rainbow Banner Card

I was actually in the middle of filming a video for StampNation when the phone rang…while I was chit chatting, I started playing with my Hearts a Flutter Framelits.  Ink pads, colors and paper started to fly and suddenly I had a rainbow of banners in front of me.

Multi-tasking is King  QUEEN!  Right?

  • Card base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2.
  • Basic Black cardstock: 4 x 5-1/4.
  • White layer: 3-3/4 x 5.

My favorite part of this card is the stamping that I did on the Designer Paper…look closely at the Old Olive DSP…looks pretty darned cool that way, doesn’t it?

Several of my upcoming videos for StampNation is a card using this same technique. Once you try it, you’ll be looking at your DSP in a different way, anxious to try this wherever you can!  The results are unique, custom designs created by YOU!
