Zen Garden Blog Hop Day 2: Love Grows Stamp Set and Dies

Welcome to the second day of blog hops celebrating the Zen Garden Release!  Today we are featuring the Love Grows Stamp Set and Dies.

Love Grows Collection

These three products were created to go together…the stamps, the dies and the Smile word die completes several of the sentiments in the stamp set.

Check out my projects (3 different ways to stamp the Love Grows flowers!), then check out the blog hop at the end of the post.  The Creative Team has a lot of fabulous inspiration on their blogs to share.

Love Grows 2 The first card uses the “stamping off” technique, or second generation stamping.  I stamped the outlines first (Rose Petals, Shea Butter and Seafoam) in “full strength” to get a dark outline.  Next, I inked up the filler stamp, stamped it off on scratch paper, then stamped it inside the outline.  This gives a great colored in look with very little effort!

The flowers and leaves were die cut with the Love Grows Dies and arranged on the card after stamping the greeting.

Love Grows

Next up…I wanted to “CASE” my first card.  Can you tell this is a CASE?  Nope, I can’t either…lol

(CASE means Copy and Share Everything, it’s a great way to be inspired for your next card making project.  Just pick a card you love (that you made or someone else made) and remake it…be sure to change up 3 things or take 3 things from the original card to make it your own.  This is how I learned to be a card maker!  I CASED everything …and I still do!)

For these leaves and flowers, I used two different colors of ink for each image which perfection shows off how fabulous the colors in the Spa Line of inks work together!

  • Peppermint Scrub and Rose Petals
  • Sauna and Shea Butter
  • Green Tea and Eucalyptus
  • Daydream and Stone Blue

I also use the Eat, Sleep, Create Stamp Set for the sentiment and the dots under it, the Create Die, and the Split Chevron Stencil with Stone Blue for the background.

My original intention for this card was to add some sponging and stenciling behind the flowers, but then an entire bouquet ended up growing on this card!

This is a TOTALLY different color combination for me and that’s party of why I’m so excited about this ink release.  Finally, I have a color palette of muted ink colors that GO TOGETHER!  SWOOON!

Love Grows 3

Lastly, I stamped the flowers, leaves and stems in Black Jack ink and stamped the filler stamps in Seafoam and Polished.  Using Black Jack gives a completely different look!

COMMENT TO WIN:  out of the three ways to stamp these flowers, which is your favorite?

  • Second Generation
  • Two different colors
  • Black Jack with colors for fillers

I can’t wait to see what you think!

If you missed yesterday’s blog hop, click here to view it.

I made a card with several techniques including Heat Embossing, Sponging and Water Techniques.  I loved how it turned out, so I hopped on YouTube Live and recreated it in different colors.  Here’s the replay!

Have fun on the hop, my friends!

  • Jill Duplessie February 14, 2018, 7:08 pm

Catherine, I like them all, but if I have to choose it is between 2 different inks and Black Jack and color and I think 2 different inks wins. This stamp set is adorable. I bought My inks already but at some point I have to have this set.

  • Rosemary McIlwaine February 14, 2018, 7:10 pm

I love them all, but my favourite would be the second card. The third card colour combo reminds of William Morris.

  • Kathy Doyle February 14, 2018, 7:59 pm

Gorgeous cards! I think I like the two color technique best, but the stamped off is a very close second! I keep telling myself I have enough floral stamps, but then new sets come out and I have to have them too!!

  • Linda Harper February 14, 2018, 8:10 pm

Two colors is my favorite, but then I’m addicting to “CASE-ing” cards myself!
