Zen Garden Release Blog Hop Day 1

ZG_BlogHop_Blog It’s our first day of blog hops for the Zen Garden Release, my friends!  We have a line up of four days of hops to introduce you to the fabulous new products we have hitting the shop today.  All week we’ll be showcasing our new Zen Garden Ink Pads along with the stamps, dies, stencil and brand new cover plate.

Today the Creative Team is (mostly) featuring the Zen Feather Stamp Set and Dies, Chevron Cheer Stamp Set and Ovals and Flowers Dies.

Chevron Cheer Thanks Die, You Die, Chevron Cheer Stamp Set – I used the Pattern of the Rings stencil to perfectly line these flowers up!  LOVE that stencil for this purpose!!!

I began with Rose Petal, then moved around the rainbow in ROY G BIV order going light to dark.  This is every single color in the Spa Line of inks.

You can see how beautiful this muted, sophisticated color palette is and how wonderfully the colors all work together.

Zen Feather Sponged and Wet Zen Feather Stamp Set –  I stamped the feather in Versamark ink on watercolor cardstock, then sponged Daydream to the left of it with my Ink Blending Tool.  Next, I sprayed it with water to smooth it out and get some watermarks and let it dry.

To the right of the feather, I sponged Seafoam, then sprayed it with water and let it dry.

I stamped the sentiment, layered it on black, then attached it to a card base.  This card is slightly smaller than my normal A2 size and measures 4 – 1/4 x 4-3/4.

To see the entire collection, download the PDF, or click here for the new section in our shop.

What’s a hop without prizes?  For each day of our four days of blog hops, we’ll be randomly picking two people to win their Zen Garden Ink Pads.  (If you already have them, a $45 GC will be issued).

How do you enter?

***Leave a comment and let me know which of these techniques you’d like to see in a video and if you prefer Facebook Live or YouTube Live!

Here is the line up of our super talented, amazing Creative Team!  Can’t wait for you to see what they have in store for you!

Have fun hoppin’, my friends!

  • Susan White February 13, 2018, 1:02 pm

This set of inks is definitely my favorite. I have placed my order from my local shop!! Hoping to pick them up on Thursday!!

  • Mary Holshouser February 13, 2018, 1:11 pm

I look at the videos on U-tube, seldom look at those
on FB. I would like more ideas for making backgrounds
from the inks. You get such fascinating patterns
    using ink and another medium.
    thanks for having the hop.

  • BeverlyBL February 13, 2018, 1:13 pm

I love your flower card. It is so cute. The background on your feather card is so pretty. Your ink colors are amazing.

  • Donna Neal February 13, 2018, 1:26 pm

Catherine, love how you showcased the Zen Garden colors on your first card. And then the white feather against the beautifully blended background – perfection! :)

  • MarilynM February 13, 2018, 1:28 pm

Love the new additions! So pretty!

  • Cynthia A Simpson February 13, 2018, 1:29 pm

Definitely you tube it has closed captions which is a must for me. I would love to see more videos on making backgrounds.

    Beautiful cards. Love them both.

  • EnigmaArtist February 13, 2018, 1:34 pm

The emboss resist technique always intrigues… just love it with the new colors!

  • Denise Terry February 13, 2018, 1:41 pm

I like the first method, lining images up with a stencil, and would like to see it on FB live :)

  • Sophia Blair February 13, 2018, 1:45 pm

I have always struggled with ink blending no matter what I do, I would love another video teaching about how to fix mistakes when getting rough lines in your blending. I absolutely love your inks, i have all of them. Can’t wait to get my hands on the zen garden set.

  • Shawn Burdge February 13, 2018, 1:47 pm

Just received my SOA and Party Collection inks. Can’t wait to start my projects. I really like the videos and appreciate you not editing out the mistakes. I tend to want everything perfect and it drives me crazy when it is not.

  • Sharon Perehudoff February 13, 2018, 2:16 pm

Catherine, your cards are gorgeous! Really enjoying blog hopping to see what other crafters are doing with this fantastic collection. These colours are beautiful and can’t wait to get my hands on these inks. Love all the stamp sets and matching dies that go with them.

  • Dana N February 13, 2018, 2:24 pm

I’d love to see the technique you used on the Zen Feather card. It’s gorgeous! I prefer YouTube Live over Facebook Live.

  • Annalisa February 13, 2018, 2:44 pm

I think I would enjoy seeing using the stencil to help you place the flowers. I’ve never considered that before, but that sounds like a great idea! Also, I vastly prefer youtube as a platform to facebook. Mostly because I don’t use facebook (but that’s because their algorithms hide things that I want to see and don’t hide things that I would like to avoid), but also because youtube video quality tends to be better. I’m so excited for this hop!

  • Joyce Whitten February 13, 2018, 2:49 pm

Love your inks! Show us all.

  • Naomi Stoneham February 13, 2018, 2:52 pm

I could use a tutorial for all of them. They relax me while I am yet again on bed rest.

  • Patti Hughes February 13, 2018, 3:40 pm

Love these new inks! I would love to see video of the one using the ring stencil. Not sure what that is, but love the way the flowers are perfectly spaced and lined up! I like YouTube.

  • Jan Arnold February 13, 2018, 3:46 pm

You hit it out of the park again! Fantastic colors! Your inks are my favorite – for their brilliant intense colors, unique properties and stampability! I know that I’m going to get a great image even on the first stamping!
These cards are fabulous! As always, cute designs! Thanks for sharing with us!

  • Lindar C February 13, 2018, 3:56 pm

  • D.Ann C February 13, 2018, 4:42 pm

Oh I’d watch a video of that beautiful sponged background for that fab feather! I’d say YouTube for the video because, if I’m late and/or want to look it up later, it’s way easier to find things on YouTube than scrolling endlessly through Facebook (for dorks like me that never think of the right search word). LOVE those colors!!

  • Sandy LaBadie February 13, 2018, 4:44 pm

These new colors look absolutely yummy. I can’t wait to play with them. The dies and stamps are awesome too!!
