Hi all, it’s Heather here. Thank you, Catherine, for having me back as a guest on your blog. For my card today I wanted to create my own background, so I chose shades of pink and red inks to stamp out the double-ended hearts on an angle.
To create a custom colored love die cut that would match my background, I used the direct to paper technique with Party Dress before die cutting. I then layered it onto another love die that was cut out of black cardstock. Just that little bit of layering really helps the sentiment to stand out.
The postage stamp dies nest nicely together to create an easy inlaid die cut focal point.
It wasn’t standing out in just the white against my background, so I cut a black panel slightly bigger than the die cut and layered them all together. This panel was popped up on the cardfront and my card was complete. You could add a few sequins or Nuvo drops, but it looks nice without them too.
I look forward to seeing how this inspires you!
