To the Ends of the Earth with Kelly Martin

Hey Stampers!  It’s Kelly here sharing another card using the Love is in the Air collection.  Isn’t this collection so great? The creative possibilities continue to blow my mind.

Today I’ve got a card for you that showcases the super cute The World Awaits stamp set and also the Postage Stamp dies. Let’s dive in!

Ends of the earth 1

Begin by cutting and scoring a 4.25 x 5.5 inch card base and then set it aside.
*Helpful tip: Go for the gold on the cardstock you use. And the golden cardstock is Catherine Pooler Designs Premium White cardstock in the 100 lb weight! This cardstock will make your card bases nice and sturdy, and they will stand up to heat guns without warping!

Cut a card panel of the same dimensions. Then you’ll want to grab your continent images from the stamp set and arrange them on your panel. Then, using an acrylic block or the MISTI, pick up the stamps and ink them with a sticky embossing ink. Stamp them on the panel, cover with white embossing powder, and heat set. Continue the arranging, stamping, and embossing process around your panel until you’re patting yourself on the back with how good it looks ;)

Ends of the earth 2

Time for a commercial break:
You’ll notice that the layout of my continents is noooot exactly geographically accurate. And to that I say–who cares?!?! In case you forgot, this isn’t a visual aid for a doctoral dissertation. So, to all you perfectionists out there–just breathe. It’s gonna be okay.

Back to the card.

Now your panel is ready to drink up all the yummy Catherine Pooler Designs ink! So grab your ink blending tool and choose whichever ink colors you like and blend away! I happen to love blue and green, can’t you tell?? I recommend buffing away any excess ink with a dry cloth every so often, just so the pure shiny white of the embossing powder can really show through.

After the panel is sufficiently ink-blended, use one of the larger dies in the postage stamp set and cut the panel before gluing it on to your scored card base. For the sentiment, I combined a few different things from the stamp set, but you can do whatever speaks to you! I double stamped my sentiment, for added boldness. Use one of the smaller postage stamp dies and cut the sentiment out, along with several other layers using the same die. This will give you some good dimension when you add it to the card. Glue your sentiment pieces together and then glue the entire sentiment piece on to the card base. Now you can step back and marvel at the cuteness you just created!
