Stamp of Approval Love is in the Air Blog Hop Day 1: Emboss Resist and Inlaid Die Cutting Technique

SOA_LITA_BlogHop1 Welcome to the first day of Blog Hops celebrating the Love is in the Air Stamp of Approval Collection!

Over the next three days, our Creative Team will be sharing loads of fabulous products using the stamps and dies in this collection.

If you are new to Stamp of Approval, we did a Facebook Live yesterday giving some history of this product, how it came about and why we put these collections together.  You can see that here.

In a nutshell, I wanted to put a quarterly collection of products together that GO together!  When your box hits your doorstep, just grab some cardstock and ink, download your Project Guide and the cardstock will be flyin’!

The Love is in the Air collection includes One 6 x 8 stamp set, three 4 x 6 stamp sets, one set of layering dies, a sentiment die and an accent die.

Oh!  And an exclusive, brand new, never seen before ink pad! :)

If you missed the product reveals this week, you can find them here:

SOA_LITA_BlogHop2 What to expect!

Our Stamp of Approval Collections are while supplies last and when they are sold out there will be no more available collections.  (You will be able to purchase the items individually later in our shop.)

Monday, January 8 at 9 pm eastern:  PJ Party Release for StampNation Members. We’ll share some fun (stamping, trivia, prizes!!!) and open ordering early for you guys.

Tuesday, January 9 at 9 am eastern:  WAIT LIST members will receive their link to purchase the collection.

Tuesday, January 9 at 6 pm eastern: if the collection isn’t sold out yet, general ordering will open. Two of our collections last year sold out just to the wait list!  So make sure you put your name on it!

CHECKING OUT:  Please double check your order before you hit submit.  It pains us greatly, but we can not make adjustments, changes, additions to any order once it’s been placed.  It’s a magnificent madhouse in here and it’s nearly impossible to do so!  THANK YOU for understanding!

NEW INK PAD ALERT!!!  Each and every Love is in the Air collection will have a brand new, never seen before ink color!  We can’t WAIT for you guys to get your hands on this one and see the name we picked for it! ;)

The World Awaits 22 The World Awaits Stamp Set: This is one of the most unique stamp sets in our entire line….and there is something a bit interesting about it.  You will see what I mean when you open your box and I think you’ll get a giggle out of it ;)

Additional new products hitting the shop with this release:

ADD-ON DIES: Love is in the Air and Bon Voyage stamp sets both have coordinating dies that you can add to your order when you check out.

NEW BLOCKS:  We will have two new blocks in our store.

Round Block:  We have carried a round block for some time now, but we have a brand spankin’ new design.  This new round block is our own design and has the same grid, finger grooves and light weight of our other blocks.

Round Block

Long Border Block:  We also have a brand new size!  Meet our 6-1/8 x 2-1/2″ Acrylic Grid Block perfect for border stamps and other long, narrow stamps!

Long border block

These are our definition of the perfect Acrylic Grid Stamping Block and we worked with the manufacturer for almost a year to make them awesome.  These are exclusive to us, you won’t find them anywhere else!

Why do we love them?

  • the indentations fit your fingers perfectly
  • the grids to help you line up your stamps
  • three sizes we use the most
  • lightweight for their size

Let’s check out a few projects and a video tutorial using goodies from the Love is in the Air Collection, shall we?

Emboss Resist and Inlaid Die Cutting Technique

The flowers from The World Awaits Stamp Set…sigh…I just love them!  I’ve used them in so many ways already and I’ve just gotten started!

Stamp them in Versamark, pour white embossing powder over, then heat….then use your Ink Blending Tool to sponge ink over the top = Emboss Resist Technique.  And I never grow tired of it.

Our inks are great for ink blending because even though they are a dye ink, which are known to be quick drying, they stay wet for a few seconds.  This gives you time to blend and smooth out your color since it doesn’t dry instantly.

LITA The World Awaits Emboss Resist Before the ink blending, I die cut the Love Die and set it aside so it stayed white, but still had the fun flowers embossed on them.  I love the resulting look!

Stamp of Approval Products used:

  • The World Awaits Stamp Set
  • Love is in the Air Stamp Set
  • Postage Stamp Die
  • Love Die

A second card using the Postage Stamp Dies, Love is in the Air Stamp Set, Love Die and the Happiness Enclosed Stamp Set.

LITA Love is in the Air For this card, I used the Postage Stamp Die to cut my layers, I stamped the arrows and hearts from the Love is in the Air stamp set, then I added the Love Die on top.  I sponged Flirty Fuscia with a heavy hand on the left, then faded out to Sweet Sixteen ink.

I think my favorite part of this card is where I stamped the circle stamp from the Happiness Enclosed Stamp Set in Black Jack on Mirrors cardstock.  It resulted in a subtle tone-on-tone stamped image peeking out from behind the layer.  Totally cool look!

Hope you enjoyed these projects, now onto the info on how you can WIN!

My sister owns a small business so I am in love with small businesses, which yours would be and I love to stamp and color. Your store is perfect for me!
I like your blocks with the grids. A friend of mine gave me a bunch of acrylic blocks so I didn’t have to buy any. Yours look really cool though.
I love that card with the cool flower background. I can emboss but because I don’t own a die cutter, I can’t do that. I am in love with flowers & I have to see what you have. I love flowers in my garden but we have tons of mutant ninja squirrels so we don’t get to have to many. I can stamp them though and all our mutant ninja squirrels can’t ruin them. Yeah!
I have a postage stamp, 2 of them. Yours is cute though too. I am loving the new stamp inks and the colors. I’m thinking I’m going to really like your company! Now to do some exploring and finish the hop.

  • Donna Connel January 8, 2018, 10:53 pm

I just bought the card making book on my kindle.and I watched your kiss of approval card. Four cards at one time. You make it look so easy. Can’t wait to make some. I learned a new techique. When I go to my card class the instructor always says don’t rub the ink on the cards it will ruin stamp pad. also says never overlap them it leaves color in your ink pad. But I really like the technique you used.

  • Annalisa January 8, 2018, 11:00 pm

I really enjoy your releases, because there are just so many different things that you show us and ways to use the different products! Also, I like how you still get excited about how something turns out. I get that way, mostly because I’m surprised it worked, but it’s so fun to hear someone who is clearly still so excited and happy about their work.

  • Nancy Topczewski January 8, 2018, 11:45 pm

Love all the cards made with this collection and always excited for a new Stamp of Approval collection. Love your inks, too! Can’t wait.

  • Arianna Barbara January 9, 2018, 5:26 am

    Wow! Great technique!!!
Love this release and these beautiful cards!!!

  • Sarah Greber January 9, 2018, 8:23 am

I really like both of these cards. I was worried about how you’d get the tiny pieces to have the right colors in the right spots, but you made it look easy. :) I love all of your SOA collections. Such a fun week!

  • Penelope January 9, 2018, 10:30 am

That script LOVE is just about perfect!

  • Carla Valdez January 9, 2018, 5:55 pm

My daughter is a world traveler. Last year she went to TN, Puerto Rico, Holland, Germany and Paris all for the second time. As I write this, she’s currently in Thailand. I constantly make cards for her for any occasion. She loves all my cards and stores them all in a box. The most recent ones get displayed for anyone to see. This “Stamp of Approval” set is absolutely perfect! I am all ready imagining all the cards I can create for her. My next step is to create Travel Journals for her! “The World Awaits” my little girl that I “Love” so much…..see what I did there :)

  • Cathy Lillie January 9, 2018, 8:54 pm
