Spa Inks for Christmas with Chrissie Tobas

Hi everyone! Chrissie here and I’m so excited to be on Catherine’s blog today! I normally keep my creations pretty clean and simple and bright, so I wanted to do something different. The new Spa Ink Collection has inks with more muted tones, so it was really easy for me to think outside of the box!

Spa Ink Release_Chrissie Tobas First, trim a sheet of Kraft cardstock to 5.5 x 8.5 inches and score at 4.25 inches. Trim a second piece of stock to 5.25 x 4 inches. This will be a landscape card (longer in length). Start stamping! Use the different pine images from the Wonderful Time of the Year stamp set. Stamp in both Green Tea and Eucalyptus, switching the ink colors and images. Stamp at the top of the cardstock panel at different angles.

Next, it’s time to stamp the ornaments! Using the same stamp set, stamp the outside ornaments images first. We will be two-step stamping, so if you are having a hard time lining up the stamps, you can use a stamping tool. However, I found that these stamps are really easy to line up. I didn’t use a MISTI or anything else at all when creating this card! Next, stamp the insides. I used Sauna, Daydream, Mandarin Spice, Royal Treatment and Peppermint Scrub for the ornaments.

To finish off the card, I stamped the hooks of the ornaments in Black Jack, along with the sentiment from the Winter Woodland set. I also added some snowflakes in Juniper Mist. I assembled the card using some foam squares.

Spa Ink Release Detail_Chrissie Tobas That’s it! Even though the stamping is essentially one layer, because the set allows the two stamping option, the ornaments look less flat and more real!

Thank you so much to Catherine for allowing me to sneak onto her blog for the day!
