Inlaid Die Cutting with Heather North

Hey!  It’s Heather here and I have an easy, elegant, clean & simple card for you today.  This card could be made with your favorite color combo, but I decided to try a new one (for me) using the new Spa ink line from Catherine Pooler.

IMG_5524.HEIC To make this card I sponged 3 colors onto the top half of my card base.  One tip for you here, it works best if you choose colors that are next to each other on the color wheel.  Yellow and purple are not, so I was careful to not overlap them.  Next you will die cut the small doily die out of a piece of paper that is the same size as your card front.  (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″)

Punch out all the little bits from your doily, stamp your greeting in the center and add a few flowers using the same colors you sponged with.  Next adhere this panel to your card base, inlaying the doily back into the negative space.  Your beautiful sponging will show through the doily holes.  :)

Thank you, Catherine, for allowing me to guest on your blog today.  It’s always a treat to share with your followers.

This is very pretty. I really like the colors you sponged behind the die cut and then placing the die cut on top.
