It’s time to get creative with the Masking Technique! There are so many fabulous ways to use this technique whether for creating faux layers or making a flower or a pumpkin (or something equally as fun!) appear in front of or behind another image. It’s an easy way to take your stamping to the next level!
We challenged our members over at StampNation to use the masking technique…here’s a peek at some of the Dream Team’s cards:
I was so inspired that as soon as I got my stuff settled in the new office, I went to work!
Here is my very first card made in my new space! WOOOT!
I die cut a rectangle shape out of copy paper and used 2 Way Glue to draw around the cut out, let it dry and it became a temporary adhesive.
I placed the mask over my card layer, then stamped the butterflies from the Butterfly Notes Stamp Set and the small flower from Lovely Flowers Stamp Set. Removing the mask reveals a rectangle of stamped butterflies and gives the illusion of a card layer!
I used a fine tipped journaling pen to draw a slightly wonky line around the rectangle for more definitely.
A white embossed greeting on black, trimmed out is a great accent for a simple card like this.
