Candy cane, peppermint stripes, holly and berry stamps and dies are going to make some pretty amazing holiday cards this season, right?

As if that wasn’t enough, we’re adding in a crooky tree and the most amazing stag in existance! (I’m seriously in love with this dude….’specially when he has sparkly horns, be still my heart!)

hip-holiday-2

In this video, we’ll meet:

  • Hip Holiday Stamp Set
  • Hip Holiday Dies
  • Merry Labels Dies

These products will be available on September 21 in our Stamp of Approval Collection.  Our quarterly collections sell out quickly, so make sure you are on the wait list to get your link first!

Sometimes I struggle with holiday cards and the color combos…red and green.  Red and green.  Red and green.

I’ve made some pretty terrific red and green cards, but sometimes it’s fun to go outside the box with pink, blue…well, what ever colors you want to try out!  Leave me a note and let me know which color combo is your favorite.

Traditional and Non-Traditional Christmas Cards with Hip Holiday!

Confession time.  Right before I made this card, I actually filmed two other videos.

I didn’t even upload them.

They were very”MEH”.

And when I’m using my own collection of products that I absolutely adore, I don’t want my cards to be”MEH”!  Right?  How CAN they be “MEH” when I love the products?

Beats me….but I do know sometimes I strike out a couple times before I HIT IT.    Lol…if you haven’t viewed the video yet, please do, otherwise you might think I’m a bit stuck up.

I don’t always love my cards, but when I do, my goodness it makes me feel good!

hip-holiday-1 Thank you, Joyce for inspiring this stamp set with your suggestion of including a crooky tree for this year’s holiday Stamp of Approval Collection.  The tree was the springboard for this entire set and as much as I love every piece of this collection, I have a special place in my heart for the Hip Holiday Stamp Set and Dies.  It’s going to be a staple stamp set in my stash for a good long time!

  • Talida September 17, 2016, 11:23 am

They are both great! Love them! Gorgeous! I keep saying that myself to each card I make. Sometimes, I ‘drive’ everyone cray when I start talking about my latest card/s. It’s great you encourage your daughters to do the same.

  • Liz Fredrickson September 17, 2016, 1:57 pm

Wow! Those cards are awesome! I like the traditional Christmas colors best, but both are fun.

  • Michelle Daigle September 17, 2016, 2:14 pm

Great dies and stamps! That stag is great and I really like that label die. The crooky tree looks like fun too. I’m excited about this release! But I wanted to say….Awesome design! You should be proud…your cards came out awesome!
Although the pink is pretty, I’m a traditional girl. I prefer the red and green for the holidays.

  • Melodie Isreal September 17, 2016, 2:15 pm

    Catherine,
You have done the impossible! I have NEVER liked Chrisman anything in non-traditional colors of any kind, but I am absolutely loving the reindeer card with the pink background and the little pink, blue, turquoise and yellow images. You have inspired me to step out of my “traditional ” box. I am going to try some new colors for this year’s holiday cards. THANK YOU so much!!
    Melodie

  • Michelle Daigle September 17, 2016, 2:16 pm

  • Claudia Lawler September 17, 2016, 2:18 pm

Thanks for a great card! You should be excited because you created a MASTER PIECE!

  • Peggy Pride September 17, 2016, 2:40 pm

  • Holley Downs September 17, 2016, 10:32 pm

  • Debbie September 17, 2016, 10:44 pm

  • Cathy September 17, 2016, 10:55 pm

    Hi Catherine and designer team,
I like both of the cards but I’m more of a traditionist kind of gal. I do think it would be fun to make the non-traditional one and send it to a little girl!!
    Can’t wait.
    Cathy

  • Mary H. September 17, 2016, 10:59 pm

I love ‘em both. It matters not if it’s traditional or not; it just matters that they are so adorable!!!

OMG!! This *entire set* totally rocks it!!! Between the crooky tree and the stag, I am head over heels about making my holiday cards now! And there’s one more set you’ll be showing tomorrow? Be still my heart!
Color-wise, I’m usually not that much into red and green for Christmas. I tend instead to gravitate towards blues or purples with silver – which makes sense since my cards often feature snowflakes.

  • Denise Bryant September 17, 2016, 11:46 pm

*Love* the stag, and really looking to see more starting tomorrow with the hop!

  • Linda Anderson September 17, 2016, 11:52 pm

  • Marianne September 18, 2016, 4:19 am

Love both cards, Catherine. There’s always something special about red and green for Christmas but I’m also a huge fan of non-contemporary colours for Christmas, and pink and blue/aqua is one of my favourite combinations.

Well, “it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!” Of all my SOA sets, this just may turn out to be my favorite! I love Cnristmas, and also like to branch out sometimes from the red/green colors. The non-traditional colors I like to use are silver and blue together. Oh, and I adore that reindeer!

  • Karen Niang September 18, 2016, 5:48 am

I LOVE LOVE LOVE that stag he’s gorgeous, I’m new to your blog and I’m hooked, I particularly like that your cards are pretty without being fussy I prefer to make cards that aren’t to busy and your work gives me tons of ideas. I can’t decide between the traditional and non traditional colours I like them both but my 4 year old likes the pink best. She would!

  • Diana Hults September 18, 2016, 9:27 am

This is a great stamp — I’m in the Midwest and this would be a BUCK (rather than a Stag) — but any hunter would LOVE to SEE this trophy! It’s hard to pick between the two you made.

  • Eva Beck September 18, 2016, 10:36 am

OMG!!!!! I’ve been waiting for your Christmas/Holiday stamp box. I purchased your Christmas/Holiday stamp box last year while I was hospitalized. I loved the stamps and my daughter also not just loved the stamps but also enjoyed using them in her own creative way. I don’t have much of an income but I’ve been saving to purchase your 2016 Christmas stamps. But, if I’m one of the fortunate winners, I’d be so thankful and grateful. I love your stamps/dies. Thank you for your creativity.

  • Michelle Peacey September 18, 2016, 10:44 am

Definitely love the traditional look best. But the non is pretty cool.

    Catherine,

I love both of these! I am probably more of a traditional color person, but i also am getting so i appreciate the non-traditional as well. I love what you said about women and girls celebrating what they do well. I personally never take your comments as a bragging or being full of yourself. You just don’t come across as that type of person. It is always done in such a fun loving way! Love, Love this card!!!

  • Carol September 18, 2016, 2:49 pm

Love, love this set! Can’t wait to try it out!

  • Cheryl September 18, 2016, 7:03 pm

I like both cards. I like the pink and the thread you added. You did a wonderful job on both. Thank you for sharing and giving us all the neat ideas!

  • Sally Chatelain-Rovelstad September 18, 2016, 7:45 pm

I think I like the more traditional colors best. The stag is awesome, especially with the glittery antlers. Thanks!

I am more of a traditional girl, though they are both gorgeous! I agree with you about women not complimenting themselves. I have actually thought something was just okay and then showed it to my son or his girlfriend and they think it’s wonderful. Anyway, I am loving these cards and the background stamp is to die for!
