adding small details with heat embossing 2 You can use heat embossing to add small details to your card making projects like on this card where I only heat embossed some tips of the leaves in gold.  Just that small bit of gold gives this project the wow factor!

In this video, I’ll take you through the process of making this card and all the mistakes I made along the way!

Adding Small Details to your Card Making Projects with Heat Embossing

I haven’t used my Gansai Tambi Watercolors in a while, and I’m glad I pulled them out!  It took me a bit of playing before I got a look I was happy with (as seen in the video!), but there’s really no rocket science to this.  At least not the way I use them!  ;)

The MISTI Stamping Tool was  invaluable for laying down different layers of color, then versamark in just a few places so I could add the Gold Embossing Powder.

If you get too much Embossing Powder on your leaves, no worries!  Just brush some away with a dry paint brush before heating.

adding small details with heat embossing I finished the card off with a bit of mixing sentiments from two different Stamp of Approval Stamp Sets on a banner, a red bow and a sweet little bird.

heat it up slide We covered more ways to add small details to your projects with Heat Embossing in our 17th lesson (more than 20 video tutorials!) in the Heat It Up event at StampNation today.

BEAUTIFUL card, and awesome video as always! I LOVE how you show your creative process, including your in-the-moment changes you make along the way. I especially liked your cartoon-screeching-to-a-halt reference. I do that A LOT and now I have a funny visual help me lighten up and just go with it when that happens. Thanks so much Catherine!
