Inspiration Nation video slide The live portion of the Inspiration Nation is officially over at StampNation, but the inspiration doesn’t stop there!  StampNation events never truly close, because as long as you are a member, you have access to the tutorials and the challenges…oh, and the DT and member projects!

I hope you’ll pop over there and check it out if you’re not a member already.  If you are, be sure to check out the 7 mood boards to get inspired for your next project.

Deco Foil and Embossing 2 Clear Embossing with Deco Foil

I found myself inspired by MissT’s card for our third mood board.  Members click here to view her card in this thread.

Deco Foil and Embossing 3 After stamping the entire border with the Kaleidecolor ink pad, it was easy to ink just ONE of the geometric images in Versamark and stamp right over the top of the colored ones.  After adding Clear Embossing Powder (make sure it’s extra fine EP), heating it, then running it through the laminator, the foil was able to stick to the EP and you get a really awesome result!

Seriously…how much do you love this Star Foil?

deco foil sn I used the same foil and two different techniques to add it to my project for today’s StampNation video…yes, further inspiration from one of the mood boards from Inspiration Nation!

I also used the GeoBuilders set in a way that I haven’t used it before…boy, I love this set!  (pretty good since it’s the first one in my line, lol!)

Edited to add:  Mary Kay let me know there is another card on StampNation that is similar to mine!  mkwdood made an amazing card using the same stamps I used here, with a different orientation, and gold glittered some of the individual shapes.  Great minds think alike, eh?  Click here to view her card for Day 1 of Inspiration Nation!

Love the look of the foil on top of the gradient stamping. Didn’t know the foil would stick to the embossing too, but know that I know, I want to try it myself…

Love the embossing trick with the foil. Just ordered foil last week, can’t wait for it to come in to try this technique! Thanks for sharing.

  • Debbie Laine May 12, 2016, 12:56 pm

WOW!!! I have never seen anything done with foil before!! I love it. Now I need to find some. Where can I get this stuff. And why do you have to let the foil glue dry for so long?
Thanks for the video on this. Very inspired to try this technique!!

  • Bev Ashman May 12, 2016, 5:22 pm

Wow! I really thought you needed a laser printer to be able to use foil on your cards and as I don’t own one, (I have an inkjet) I thought it wasn’t viable to purchase one just for this purpose. I’m now off to buy some foil. Thanks again for a wonderful idea.
    Warm regards

This was my first time I have seen Misti. I like it and think it would be great addition to my card making products.
