Welcome to the National Craft Month blog hop!  My “task” was to create a project with products I’m excited about.

Well, gosh darn…THAT was easy!

I pulled out Eva’s Favorite Flowers from the very first Stamp of Approval Collection back in August, the Journal Card Die from the Young at Heart Collection and a muted color palette (which is not my usual go-to-color palette!) for this card.

I started by stamping the large light blue flowers, then added the detail stamp on top with a darker blue ink.

Next, I filled in with the melon colored “starburst” flower, stamping them close to the blue flower.  I stamped the leaves next, followed by the small dotted flower.

I used both frame dies to cut out white cardstock, then I sponged it with the melon ink so it was perfectly coordinated.

The “Blessed” die cut was sponged with the same Chartruese ink that the leaves were stamped in.

blessed

This is a really versatile card design – do you recognize it?  I used it a couple weeks ago with the “Crooky Cake” (or if you want to be all kinds of formal, the Bring on the Cake) stamp set HERE.

Since this is part of a blog hop, there’s more projects AND prizes….

In order to be eligible to win the prizes, you can link up your own creations on the  by March 22nd, 2016 on the Right at Home blog!  www.rightathomeshop.com/blog/national-craft-month-celebration-blog-hop.

BTW- the Right at Home blog is your next stop on the hop!  So mosey on over there and take a peek at what’s up for grabs!

Have fun!

I really appreciated how you explained how you created it because it seems like something I could actually create myself. Very cute card. Love how versatile the design is. Love how you made everything match together by inking the two design pieces to exactly match the colours stamped on the card. I would like to start using this design more often but want to start doing it with vellum as I haven’t done so yet

  • Ann Greene March 15, 2016, 5:04 pm

  • Melissa Friedrich March 15, 2016, 6:32 pm

Beautiful card Catherine, love this soft color palette, the scallop frame detail and the flowers. Inking the frame and word die cut to match the flowers makes it all work so well together.

I really do like those soft colours, Catherine. I guess it’s a good thing to step out of our comfort zone every now and then. Just started using the supplies of the last SOA box. Such an awesome collection of stamps and dies, it’s hard to decide what to use first…
