Creating a Background with Distress Crayons

I’m pumped today to have my dear friend and StampNation Dream Team member Laurel Beard here with a special guest post.  Take it away Laurel.

Hi there! Laurel here and I am pleased as punch to be a guest blogger on THE Catherine Pooler’s blog!!!!!  I’ve got a fun card to share with you that was actually inspired by SPAM! Seriously, the annoying spam email you get??? One of them had a gorgeous floral photo on it and it inspired me to create this card, he he he!

-1 To create the background, I stamped the images from Eva’s Favorite Flowers with Versamark ink and then heat set it with white embossing powder.   I then took some Distress Crayons and rubbed them all over the panel and then blended them by using a wet wipe.

I took one of the small circles from the Ring in the Celebration stamp set and stamped it with white pigment ink. The sentiment was stamped in the same ink. I adhered it to a teal card panel and then glued one strip of white card stock in between the panels to act as a border!

And finally, (I swear I am almost done babbling) I adhered the whole thing to a Navy blue card base.

    Hi CP ~ I absolutely love Laurel’s card (I always do!!) and, like I’ve said before, Eva’s Favorite Flowers stamp set is in my top 10 go-to stamp sets. I truly love it! I ordered the Distress Crayons and can’t wait to get them!! Gorgeous card, fun post. Thanks to both of you for sharing!! ~HUGS~
