Masked and Faded Stenciling and the Spectrum Sparkle Pen

Masked and Double Stenciled 4

The Technique Toolbox:  Creative Stencils and Mediums class is still going on over at StampNation, so I haven’t put my stencils away!

For about 5 bucks a pop, stencils are an inexpensive tool to play with and they can be used to create so many different looks and backgrounds.

This card has several techniques:  masking, faded stenciling and double stenciling.  I’ll also show you how to use the Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens.  When I saw them at CHA, I fell in love!

I wasn’t sure that I loved the Baker’s Twine on the banner…so here it is without the twine.  So what do YOU think?  With or without?

Masked and Double Stenciled 2 So you’ve got to run over HERE to see Iliana’s card that she made!  She’s the one that tipped me off to using this stencil this way (which is the greatest thing ever, btw…when stampers get this stuff in their hot little hands and make ridiculous awesomeness with it!  oh, my!).  Fantastic, right?

Here’s a look at my inspiration card.  The other card that inspired me was THIS ONE by Maureen.

Masked and Double Stenciled 3

Masking off a circle and stenciling or stenciling and die-cutting a circle…either way, you have a really fun look!

You’ll notice a bit of white accenting around the flowers…I used the Faber Castell Pitt Pen that Eva used in her video a few weeks ago HERE.    Fun way to add detail, right?

I added some glossy accents to the Birthday die cut to make it look like a shiny, acrylic accent.

When I was writing this blog post, I realized that I made a card just like this one last year!  Click here to see it.  I CASEd myself without even realizing it!  lol

Love the colours, design and everything about it. I’ve never before been so inspired by a class, work is getting in the way of my craft time lol.

I love this card! It can be used for male or female or even over the hill. Thanks for sharing.
