Welcome to the Calling All Sistahs Blog Hop! You all know that I’ve been close with Michele (owner and creative behind CAS-ual Fridays) through her journey with breast cancer and I’m sure you are following her story as well.
Back in September, I had a small retreat with some of my Design Team and Michele joined us…it was an amazing and inspiring weekend for many reasons.
One, Michele found out that she did NOT have the breast cancer gene while she was standing on my mother’s porch. I was so happy to be there and share that glorious moment with her.
Then, while we were there, Michele revealed her “Calling All Sistahs” collection and campaign plan. I thought it was brilliant and there were many tears shed over the idea.
A collection – stamps and dies- all coordinating with each other to support, uplift and REMIND us to get checked. This is an important message because Michele found her breast cancer in the early stages because her local TV news reminded HER to do a self check.
Imagine sending and receiving cards reminding us to check ourselves. What a GREAT idea!
What’s even better? 50% of the proceeds from this collection will be donated to breast cancer awareness and research.
Calling All Sistahs Blog Hop – Watercolored Awareness Ribbon
This card was quick and easy to make and would be perfect to send to friends as a reminder for that monthly check!
With a detailed stamp like this with small images, make sure you are using “Fine Detail” embossing powder so you get better embossed images. White or Clear would work here!
If you don’t have Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, try “smooshing” with Distress or any Dye ink or Colorbursts or Brusho.
The next stop on the hop is the CAS-ual Fridays blog!
