Foiled Flowers with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers
It is Day 6 of the CA Vacation at StampNation and we are all about San Fransisco!
There are so many iconic spots to visit in San Francisco that we could easily have spent the entire week here. In the heart of San Francisco is Postcard Row, across from Alamo Square comprising of 7 houses called, The Painted Ladies.
They are known for their Victorian and Edwardian architecture as well as the use of 3 or more colors of paint to enhance their design features. You can now see Painted Ladies throughout San Francisco, but these 7 are the original and most photographed because of their prime location across from the park.
Challenge: Use 3 or more colors on your card in honor of our tour of The Painted Ladies of Postcard Row.
My card today is a twist on THIS CARD from last week – I basically made the card in reverse! It actually fits into more than one of our CA Vacation challenges. It works for Alcatraz (Stripes!), Painted Ladies (more than one color) and The Golden State (Gold!).
In this video, we will stencil with Translucent Embossing Paste, color and watercolor with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and I’ll show you a ridiculously easy way to stay on trend with FOILING!

I don’t always jump on trends immediately. Sometimes I have to be convinced. You see, my joy is in teaching and I know many of you feel overwhelmed by all the new products on the market- pretty much constantly. We need new products to keep us having fun and to create excitement and we need to BUY new products to keep the crafting industry alive. HOWEVER, not all products are for all people.
So when the foil trend hit the scene, I liked the look…gorgeous patterns foiled on cardstock. Really, really pretty.
But this simple gal couldn’t be bothered with a laminator or other machine and what in the heck kind of ink is in my printer anyways? lol…so I’ve skipped this trend.
Enter Deco Foil and Adhesive sheets.
It’s not the same look that you get by running your embossed or printed images through a machine, but it’s good enough for me.
Unless the foil trend sticks around long enough to hook me. We’ll see!
This card was super fun to make and I LOVE how it came out…I think I like the first card a bit better, but they are both super fun!
Here’s a peek at the inspiration from StampNation for this challenge. 3 completely different cards to inspire you and get you running to your craft table!
There’s only one more official day left of our vacation, but the beauty of StampNation events and challenges (and videos!) is that they NEVER close! They are always there to inspire you….4-1/2 years worth! For real!
