blog hop board Through mood board inspiration, our designers teach class participants many different ways that you can draw inspiration from the world around you.

What is a Mood Board?  A Mood Board is “an arrangement of images, materials, pieces of text, etc., intended to evoke or project a particular style or concept.”

Mood Boards can be incredible sources of inspiration for paper crafting projects, but sometimes it’s hard to know how to translate the inspiration to paper, and every crafter has a different interpretation!

So how was I inspired by the above Mood Board?

Alcohol Inks Accents 2 Alcohol Inks Background Video Tutorial

I was inspired by color pallette, the butterflies and flowers, the soft watercolored flower and the touch of gold on the earrings (ummm….I WANT those earrings!).

I made a really fun background with Alcohol Inks, then die cut butterflies and flowers for a couple Clean and Simple cards.

Catherine you never cease to amaze me!! LOVE the technique piece and the way you incorporated it into multiple cards. You inspired me just this week when a watercolor piece I was working on didn’t turn out just as I wished. I had recently watched you take a piece unplanned and use it as die cuts for cards. loved the result and now have a great plan for those technique pieces. Even if they turn out right, it’s a great way to avoid waste. Now I’m going to have to sign up for this class and I’m already loving being a member of stamp nation!!
    God Bless

Wow! I would love to be the recipient of either or both of these cards! I particularly like the way the colors blend and flow in the butterfly — that solid purple center with the color flowing out through the turquoise to become softer, it almost feels as though the butterfly is not only floating on the acetate, but also fluttering, ready to alight on me!
