Welcome to the Spring 2015 Essentials by Ellen Release Hop! I’m honored to be working with Ellen Hutson and Julie Ebersole on their newest release!

I also get to give this new stamp set, called Mondo Magnolia (and whaddaya know!? I’m using it in today’s projects!) to a lucky blog reader.

Please leave a comment to enter my giveaway!

Mondo Magnolia Distress Markers

Watercoloring Flowers with Distress Markers

I spent a couple hours (nope!  This girl’s not a natural watercolorist!) working on the best and easiest way to watercolor the Mondo Magnolia stamp set.  This ended up being SO DARNED EASY, I knew I had to make a quick video showing you how!

Mondo Magnolia Distress Markers 2

I added some Vintage Photo, Mustard Seed and Abandoned Coral to the center, cut it out with the Mondo Magnolia Dies, added some Stickles and popped it up in the center.

A simple white embossed sentiment on a black strip of cardstock with some sequins finished this card off.

Mondo Magnolia Distress Background

While I was playing and watercoloring, I made this flower and cut it out.  I sponged my card base with Vintage Photo Distress Ink, stamped Bokeh Dots in Gold Delicata Ink and splattered the background with some water.

I added the flower to the card base and added the “Be You tiful” die cut which is covered in Stickles as well.

The fun begins in the CLASSroom and there is also a Grand Giveaway! To enter, be sure to leave a comment there, and at every stop along the hop by May 5th! Winners will be announced May 8th.

Happy hoppin’!

Once I got started with this set, I couldn’t stop!  Here’s another watercolored card I made.  This time I watercolored the background, cut out the flower and stamped it on the card base.  I have a video tutorial on how to do this super quickly and easily – coming soon!

I can think of so many things to do with this stamp. I loved this video. I’m always looking for new ideas. My 75 yr old mother, my sister and I make approximately 40 cards a month for my churches ABW card ministry. I had only seen Stampin Up products until about 2 months ago when I stumbbled upon Catherine Pooler on youtube. I’ve watched every video I could get my hads on ever since. I didn’t know there were so many product opportunities out there, our AC Moore selection is not always the greatest. Thanks Catherine for opening this West Virginia ladies eyes to a bigger world of creating.

  • Bev Chapman May 5, 2015, 8:04 am

Awesome! Looks easy the way you do it.

  • Sandy M May 5, 2015, 8:19 pm

Wow, that is the first time I have seen the MISTI and, of course, it looks like a necessary tool. I like the card with the patterned paper best…gives the eye more to process! And, what a beautiful magnolia.

  • Meghan Shea May 5, 2015, 9:22 pm

  • Anna May 6, 2015, 6:21 am
