Valentine’s Day Shaker Card and a give-a-way!

Valentineshakercard3 Who doesn’t love a Shaker Card?  They are fun, interactive and just adorable.

When you need a special card for Valentine’s Day, why not make a Shaker Card?  Truly, this card can be used any time you want to tell someone “I love you”!

View the video tutorial and I’ll show you how to make this Valentine’s Day Shaker Card:

I almost never make a card then film the video showing you how….you get to see the process “LIVE”.  Occasionally, the card comes out a bit less than perfect.

In this Valentine’s Day Shaker Card, can you guess what I would change?  Two things….

  1. I went a bit overboard with the shaker bits, maybe..perhaps…so I wouldn’t put in quite as many.  I couldn’t resist, though.
  2. I probably should have made the dimensional border around the frame TWO high.  Get what I mean??  If I had put another layer on top of the first round of dimensional adhesive, there would have been more room between the acetate and the card layer and the shaker bits would have moved around more freely.

Am I going to re-make this card?  Heavens no!  My hubby will love it, imperfections and all because I made it just for him.

I love the shake, shake, shake of the shaker card! I am no longer intimidated to try and make one. I am making a bunch of valentines for my sorority sisters, grandbabies, great niece, and hubby. I have fond memories of my nana sending my sisters and I a valentine with a dollar or so in it. I want to make those memories too. An unexpected card is a nice thing to get.

  • Karen Bailey February 4, 2015, 1:58 am

  • Eileen Shacochis February 4, 2015, 10:02 pm

I have made three different Valentines this year. One with a monkey for my youngest granddaughter, one with valentine outlines and one a tic-tac-toe grid (not a shake card). All fun and easy to create. Love my card making.

  • Kathy Dalgliesh February 4, 2015, 10:52 pm

Making a bunch, several different styles that did include a few small heart shaker cards
which was my first attempt! Likewise I think I should have made the dimensional border thicker/higher. Some of them don’t shake real well, but are still cute!

  • Shari Purkey February 4, 2015, 11:25 pm

  • ionabunny February 19, 2015, 2:00 pm

Love your shaker. I always put too much in!!! I tried making one of my shakers twice as wide and actually I don’t think it’s a good idea. Everything just ends up jammed up in a layer twice as thick as usual. It ain’t pretty. Hugz
