One Layer Christmas Card with Stencils

I have been making quite a few One Layer Cards lately!  What do you think about that?  Leave me a comment below and let me know what you like…

  • One Layer Cards?
  • More elaborate cards?
  • a mix of everything!

When you all tell me what you like, it helps me create content that you love….so let me know!

Today’s One Layer Card was really fun to do and didn’t take much time at all.

I love the Stampin’ Up stencils (SU calls them Masks) because they are BIG, they are inexpensive and they are sturdy.  This one is the Hearts and Stars.

In the first card, I used Red and Gold ink which coordinated perfectly with the Papertrey Ink Tremendous Treats Santa.  Isn’t he darling?

The second card was done with stars and snowflakes, blue and silver for a bit of a snowy night sky feel.

I hope you enjoy these simple Christmas cards and are inspired to make your own!

I took the same design elements, tweaked the colors, the images and added layering and other fun stuff.  Find this exclusive video on StampNation by clicking here (members, be sure you are logged in before clicking the link).

Catherine I really love one layer cards that is fast and easy like yours so bravo. Occasionally for very close friends and family I like to do 3D cards but I kind of like to them in July Nice cards TFS :-)

I like one layer cards but I really LOVE multi layers and popped up stuff and bling. :) I almost did a one layer card yesterday…it turned into only two layers so that’s okay. the stamped and inked panel mounted on a card front. Heh. :) I love everything you show us, even if it’s not my personal style, I usually am inspired by some portion of the design. So, thanks!

I make multi-layered die cut and stamped cards for my close family and smaller easier cards for my neightbors and church friends. Love this quick and easy card you made so I think I will adapt it and make some religious cards for church. Great card and video!

    Hi Catherine ;

I love the cards today – I actually find it harder to do one layer cards , but really do not do elaborate ones either . I enjoy watching your videos and the mix of styles that you do . Thank you for sharing .

Love these cards! Just gorgeous! I make some elaborate and some simple. I used to choose a theme each year and do all my Christmas cards much the same for everone, but this year, I am making lots of different ones which I am finding much more fun. I love to see everything you do! I get lots of ideas whatever type of card you show us. Your videos are fabulous, thank you! xxx

I LOVE your KISS cards and OLCs especially during the holidays when I’m sending a lot of cards and need more than one of a type. Also, since I sent most cards via USPS I’m usually trying to keep things fairly flat. I really enjoy the OLCs as they are usually pure stamping which I love to do. I also love when you step it up a notch after the KISS card or OLC and I love to see all the creativity on StampNation take off from one of your ideas!

    You do such beautiful work.

I love your kiss cards……so cute and easy for mass productions. Thanks for all the hints for making things easy and fun.

I really liked the video. I have been making all different kinds of cards for Christmas. the one I have made the most of is using the pine tree from SU and putting brown glitter on it. I found the video on Youtube. it seem easy enough since I didn’t have many Christmas stamps at the time. Is there is difference in the Delicata ink pads?

    Hi Catherine,
I love this idea and now have my head spinning over ideas and the stencils I already have!
Kinda really like that Stampin’Up! one though!

    Many thanks,
