Did you know it’s National Coffee Day?  Yep!  it sure is!

To celebrate, I’m participating in the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!  You can join in, too!  My friend, Chaitali from Cuts, Crops & Creativity is hosting.  I’ll give you all the deets in a minute, but first I wanted to share my card with you today.

I had an absolute blast making this card using the Double Inked Letterpress technique.  Have you see it before?  It’s such a fun way to use your embossing folders – c’mon, fess up, how many do you have?? – in a new way.  The result is the great design from your folder embossed into the paper and “highlighted” in two different ink colors.

Pretty cool, right?

Please watch the video to see how it was done!

btw- if you watched the whole video, the answer is FIREBALLS!

Viewing through a feed in your inbox?  click here to view online.

The Double Inked Embossing tutorials is fun and it’s easy.  I hope you will try it out yourself!

Did you forget that I said there were some prizes up for grabs?

Go make a card for National Coffee Day, upload it to the linky on Chaitali’s blog and be sure to check out the other artists’ creations for even more inspiration!

Always enjoy your videos and this is a technique I’m anxious to try. The two-tone effect is just “something else”…. so neat! And I’ve rarely found a coffee flavor I don’t like. Drink mine black and like all I’ve tried except for the extra strong (almost muddy like my grandpa drank)!

  • Lysa September 29, 2014, 11:05 am

Amazing card! I love that background and will definitely have to give that double-inking technique a try! :)

  • MariLynn September 29, 2014, 11:30 am

I love the double inked letterpress technique. I am going to have to go try it. Love the cute little coffee cup you used on your card. Coffee, tea and the java make 3… that is me any way to get that caffeine. But mostly love Coffee in the morning tea at lunch and dinner.

  • kelly Booth September 29, 2014, 11:31 am

Really cute card. I love the letterpress look background and will try that. I’ve been using the water color technique with this idea but need to try this method. Fun ideas for creating the cup and the sentiment! Oh, and I’m drinking my hot tea now as I watch this! I do like coffee sometimes, but tea is my favorite!

  • Heather North September 29, 2014, 12:01 pm

That is my favorite creamer too, and I can’t find it anywhere! Perhaps I need to make a trip to NC to find some. Thanks for the video on your adorable coffee inspired card.

Great technique with the embossing folder! I will definitely be looking to try that one soon! Thanks for sharing!
I was raised in a tea drinking home and adore Chai and Earl Grey. I do enjoy the Mocha Frappaccino’s from Starbucks and I like coffee ice cream, but really need all that creaminess to be happy with the coffee flavor. I do love how coffee smells, though!

  • Sherry in MI September 29, 2014, 7:12 pm

Very cute card. However, I cannot abide coffee…can’t even take the smell of it. My drink of choice is hot tea (Constant Comment or Earl Grey) in the cold weather and Diet Pepsi with lime (or lemon) in the warm weather. And hot chocolate in the dead of winter is a must!

  • Kerry September 29, 2014, 7:27 pm
