housewarming party 2

I had so many great things to share with you yesterday when I posted all the details on the Housewarming Party!  A quick recap:

  • over $300 in prizes to win!
  • enter by making a card (theme: HOME) and linking it up – make sure you link back to this post, too!
  • leave a comment on this video for an entry!
  • my Housewarming gift to you is a $1 – 3 Day Trial to StampNation - my favorite HOME on the internet!

The Housewarming party will run through September 17th…I look forward to seeing more fun creations and reading your comments – I read every single one of them!

This little house from the Shades Creative Die set by Penny Black is absolutely darling and completely floating my boat at the moment.  How flippin’ cute, right?

View the video to see how this card came together.

Using Distress Inks with water and a brush is one of my favorite things to do lately.  I just can’t seem to get enough of watercoloring techniques!

The Vellum, cut with the Stitched Rectangle Die by Lil Inker Designs added just that pop the card needed and helped give the house and the sentiment somewhere to anchor!

The colors and inspiration came from the Housewarming Party graphic:

This was a pretty fun card to make and it will come in handy very soon.  Our neighbors are moving in two weeks…which is pretty sad.  We moved here more than 13 years ago and one by one we had great neighbors move in.  Over the past decade, we’ve raised our kids together (youngest is 5, oldest is 14), and one-by-one each family has moved off our street.  Six families in all – we were here first and here we remain (which is completely fine with me!  I love my house!)

They have all moved within a couple miles, but it’s just not the same as an impromptu gathering in the cul-de-sact on a Friday night for, waiting at the busstop together or calling for a cup of sugar.  I hope my friend likes it!
