StampNation BEACH Vacation Blog Hop

Today is finally the day that we are kicking off the StampNation Summer Beach Vacation!  SN’s Dream Team has been working tirelessly behind the scenes creating the challenges, lining up sponsors and Guest Designers, and creating projects and videos…it’s been a labor of love and now it’s time to share it with you!

How about kicking off this fabulous event with a Blog Hop!?

Each of the StampNation Dream Team members, along with some of our crafty friends, are hopping along sharing cards inspired by our first challenge, “Beach Style”, as well as a peek at our favorite projects from the event!

Here’s my card for the first challenge…ok, so I know it’s not a BEACH card, but when you see the inspiration photo on StampNation, you will see how I was inspired.  Plus, who doesn’t want to see a beautiful blue sky with a hot air balloon in it while lying on the beach??!!

Day 1

My favorite part of this card is…can you guess?  The balloon!  It was made with Glossy Cardstsock and Alcohol Inks.  View the video to see how it was done:

This card features the fabulous Blue Skies stamps and dies by Lawn Fawn!

We used to have a wonderful balloon festival close to us in years past. This is such a beautiful card it brings back memories of taking my daughter when she was young.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful card idea.

  • Jodie Stoddard July 26, 2014, 8:20 pm

Wow, it is truly amazing how seeing someone do something with a stamp and die set makes it so much more desirable. Seeing a finished project always makes the tools that much more needed. Great card.

  • Vicki B. July 26, 2014, 8:31 pm

    Great video! Thanks.

  • Laura July 27, 2014, 3:28 pm

I love Lawn Fawn stamps and dies. A local craft store carries them. Love your balloon, my younger sisters used to crew for a balloon owner here. Chasing around town to figure out where the balloon would land was fun. Loading the balloon took a lot of muscles:)

  • Janette July 27, 2014, 3:55 pm

Beautiful card. Just love hot air balloons. Great technique.

  • Felicity July 27, 2014, 5:02 pm

Hi Catherine – what vibrant colors!!! Love your layering, too. Great design and tfs!!!

  • Mary-Michaele September 10, 2014, 7:22 pm

Thank you so much for demonstrating some ideas using alcohol inks. I have had a set of three for two years now and never got up my nerve to do something with them. You can bet I’m going to use the inks now!
The hot air balloon card is a great use of the inks and gave me lots of ideas for making my card.

  • Janice Hilton June 27, 2015, 3:45 pm

Love, love the balloon too. :-) This card just screams of summer. Thanks so much.
