StampNation BEACH Vacation Blog Hop

Today is finally the day that we are kicking off the StampNation Summer Beach Vacation!  SN’s Dream Team has been working tirelessly behind the scenes creating the challenges, lining up sponsors and Guest Designers, and creating projects and videos…it’s been a labor of love and now it’s time to share it with you!

How about kicking off this fabulous event with a Blog Hop!?

Each of the StampNation Dream Team members, along with some of our crafty friends, are hopping along sharing cards inspired by our first challenge, “Beach Style”, as well as a peek at our favorite projects from the event!

Here’s my card for the first challenge…ok, so I know it’s not a BEACH card, but when you see the inspiration photo on StampNation, you will see how I was inspired.  Plus, who doesn’t want to see a beautiful blue sky with a hot air balloon in it while lying on the beach??!!

Day 1

My favorite part of this card is…can you guess?  The balloon!  It was made with Glossy Cardstsock and Alcohol Inks.  View the video to see how it was done:

This card features the fabulous Blue Skies stamps and dies by Lawn Fawn!

  • Kay Jantz July 23, 2014, 1:57 pm

I saved you until last and the balloon is perfect for summer, I grew up on a lake in northern MN and that was my summer vacation, water skiing, swimming, riding horses, laying on the beach watching clouds, sometimes go fishing, great summers! Now many decades later I stay in a swamp cooler cooled house to avoid the heat here in NM. Love to stamp and love this hot air balloon. We have lots of those here almost on a daily basis, being we are the home of the International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta every October. Come on out and check them out sometime. I need to share some of the cards I have made, not nearly so colorful, but very similar to the area.

  • Miriam Prantner July 23, 2014, 2:52 pm

I am signing up for SN! (Finally!)….I have been getting your emails since forever, and I love following your blog. Thanks for the chance to win the fun Giveaway!
I love your card. I went to the Balloon Festival in Albuquerque NM years ago and your card reminds me of that.

  • Chris R. from Iowa July 26, 2014, 12:32 pm

When I saw the hot air balloon I thought I don’t need that set. But, after watching the video with the awesome colors for the balloon and coloring the sky – I thought that was really neat and looking like fun! I had the morning show on tv in the background and I happened to look up, there was the Hot Air Balloon Festival in a nearby town. Hundreds of these beauties in the sky. So, now I want this set and make this fun and amazing card! The little hearts with the thanks – just added to the fun. Now, I gotta go hop around!

  • kris k July 26, 2014, 12:34 pm

Love the ink on the glossy cardstock, but without the curved lines (as on the stamp) the balloon looks rather flat. I can see why you did it that way though and you do beautiful work.
