Cards For Him Blog Hop - masculine cards

Here is the card that I made for the blog hop.

Simple.  Clean.  Graphic.  Great for a guy!

But great for many other people and occasions, right?

In this video I will show you how I made this card, simplified a bit, and how to make it four different ways!

I started out with the intent of making this a simple KISS Card video (Keep it simple stamper!) and got a bit carried away…watch…(viewing in your inbox?  click the title to view online).

Be sure to hop over to this video on Youtube to comment – I’ll be sending all five of these cards to one person drawn at random!   KISS Cards Supplies:

  • Flower Friend Stamp Set (Simon Says Stamp)
  • Cardstock:  Whisper White
  • Ink:  Early Espresso, Daffodil Delight

KISS Cards How to:

  • Score two pieces of card stock at 5-1/2, then cut at 5-1/2. Fold these in half and you will then have four card bases.
  •  Cut one piece of card stock the long way at 4, then cut the remaining piece at 4.  Then cut both pieces at 5-1/2.  You will now have four pieces for your top layers.
  • Cut the 1/4 piece of card stock on an angle.
  • Use a pencil to trace the angle of the cut card stock.
  • Use that pencil line as a guide to stamp your images.
  • Figure out how much you need to cut off the top piece and cut.
  • Stamp your greeting and assemble with dimensionals.

KISS Cards Supplies:

  • Make a Statement Stamp Set (Some Odd Girl)
  • Cardstock:  Whisper White
  • Ink:  Yes Peas, Something Blue, Orange County (Studio Calico)

KISS Cards Supplies:

  • Stamp Set (Papertrey Ink)
  • Cardstock:  Whisper White
  • Ink:  Coastal Cabana, Basic Grey, Calypso Coral

KISS Cards Supplies:

  • Leaf and Flower Background Stamp (Hero Arts)
  •  Cardstock:  Whisper White
  •  Ink:  Peacock Feathers, Mowed Lawn (Distress Ink)
  • Accessories:  Sparkling Clear and Onyx Sequins (Pretty Pink Post)

I love the last one it truly is KISS!

  • Ruth B May 3, 2014, 2:58 pm

I like the Versamark card best. The colours are gorgeous but I like them all . Will try this idea tomorrow. Thank you.

  • maryellen Jacobson May 3, 2014, 3:02 pm

Absolutely so unique and easy to make with a spectacular end product.

  • Janice May 3, 2014, 4:47 pm

What’s the stamp set you used in the first card. I’ve been searching for it and can’t find it. In the YouTube video you said its a hero arts set and it was the initial inspiration for this project. It has the cutest fox stamp so I’m desperately seeking that fox for a Hello Fox card that’s growing creative roots in my head.

  • Cyndy Malewicz May 3, 2014, 6:21 pm

If I had to pick a favorite it’s the “Dude” card. Your videos are so easy to understand , thank you. I especially liked your tips i.e.. an oops gets covered with a gem and to color gems to work with the project use a marker. Thanks again .

  • calamityjane May 3, 2014, 9:31 pm

YAH!!!! I can’t wait to get started with this class!!! Thank you Allison for drawing me as a winner!

  • Chrystyna B May 4, 2014, 2:02 am

What a great and simple idea. A super KISS card. My favorite is the one with the embossing and the distress ink pads, but all are great!!! Thanks for sharing this wonderful idea for making a variety of cards quickly – just change the sentiment and colors – voila = great cards all will love.

  • Roxanne W May 4, 2014, 7:11 am

Love these cards! It’s hard to choose but I really like the “lol” Dude card. Thanks for your inspiration!

  • Maureen Chandler May 4, 2014, 7:38 am

All of the cards are wonderful and I love the design. My favorite is the blue/green one with the message What a Wonderful Day! Thanks so much for your video!!

  • Andrea May 4, 2014, 8:09 am

I think I like the sunflowers the best… but it’s a tough call. I do love the design and all of the cards are great. Thanks for the chance to win and thanks for the unending flow of inspiration!!!!

  • Ida Faye Cutler May 4, 2014, 9:01 am

Beautiful cards and so fast and easy. My favorite is the embossed one. I like embossed cards and this is my favorite color combo.

  • Mary L Schreiber May 4, 2014, 10:04 am

Love them all, I going to try making some of them, maybe with different stamps. I love simple and easy cards.

  • Elaine S. May 4, 2014, 10:42 am

I love quick and simple cards. These are really nice.

  • Melissa F May 4, 2014, 11:03 pm

I really love all the cards, but I seem to have a bias towards embossed ones: in this case, I love the stamp, colors and of course embossing! thanks for all your ideas Catherine, love that!

  • Melissa F May 4, 2014, 11:03 pm

I really love all the cards, but I seem to have a bias towards embossed ones: in this case, I love the stamp, colors and of course embossing! thanks for all your ideas Catherine, love that!

  • Dawn May 5, 2014, 9:55 am

What a wonderful idea, Catherine! I really love your sunflower card! ♡

  • Laura Miller May 5, 2014, 4:46 pm

I love the emboss resist – – I want to pull out my stamps and do that one. Though I also really like the pseudo sunflowers – – tho simple, I think I like that one the best. I’m a sucker for flowers – – tho that isn’t quite the best for the manly card.

  • Chris E May 6, 2014, 2:47 pm

I like them all … but LOVE the feather/distress ink card the most :) So gorgeous!!!

  • Fern Laderoute May 7, 2014, 12:37 am

I liked all, but my favorite one is the with embossing on it

  • Bette May 7, 2014, 11:50 am

The color resist card was my favorite because the colors are so peaceful – is this why our skies are blue and our grass is green? Even the HWY department made interstate signs blue and green…hmmm? So, I want to do this card and do it often. In NY

  • Maggie July 20, 2014, 1:59 am

Love the colour resist card. I have to go now so I can try one for myself !!!! Thank you

  • Carolyn December 19, 2014, 6:10 am

I liked all the cards, but my favorite is the Circles card. I cannot wait to try all these cards out. Thank you for sharing.

  • joni webb March 5, 2015, 2:43 pm
