In a hurry? Click here to download this PDF project tutorial!

Welcome to the Birthday Party!  My friend, Paulina, over at the 10 Minute Craft Dash invited me to participate in this blog hop to celebrate the first birthday for her challenge.  I hopped on it (pun intended!) and said yes in a hot minute! What an honor!

If you are hopping along with the blog hop celebration, you arrived here from Laura Bassen.

If you are not familiar with the 10 Minute Craft Dash, it is an every other week challenge hosted by Paulina.  The kicker is that you only have TEN minutes to make the card!

You heard me right.  10.  Minutes.

I knew that I wanted to make a video for this occasion.  I didn’t realize at first what that really meant.  I don’t usually create with a time limit!   I laughed at myself the whole way while breathing hard and breaking out in a full on sweat!  View the video and maybe you’ll laugh, too!

7:28 – I did it!

Download this as a PDF for future reference – Click here!

Yep, I hit a couple snafus while filming.  Now, by looking at the photo and the card in the video, can you guess what other snafu I ran into?

When it came time to photograph the card, I COULDN’T FIND IT!

I recently cleaned some stuff out of my room and shuffled things around to make way for this beauty here and in the process lost the card.  oh em geeee!

Pretty Pink Posh Birthday Bash Blog Hop

sooo….I remade the card…this time it took me less than five minutes!  I decided to place the masks on more of an angle and have it bigger on the bottom than the top.  I encourage you to try your hand at this sponged masking technique.  It’s fun.  It’s quick.  and boy, what an impact!

I hope you all enjoy this birthday card and are inspired to join in the challenge as well.

Let’s look at some of the deets of this Birthday Celebration!

YOU can win stuff!  Exciting, right?

How?  Just leave a comment here and on any of the other blogs that are participating in the hop and you will be entered!  There will be a grand prize winner along with 10 blog hop prize winners.  Visit Paulina at Pretty Pink Posh for all the juicy details and to enter the challenge yourself!   Good luck!

Now head over to  Betty J..  She’s the next stop in the blog hop!

Here is the line-up of the prizes.  Check out the first one…it’s a 3 month StampNation Membership!  This is something I’ve never given away before.

As always – fun to watch your thought processes! Thanks for the sponging technique card idea!

  • Millie August 8, 2013, 1:56 pm

I needed a quick card for a birthday and used the design. Of course, mistakes can be made but covered. upon removing the sticky notes, I wiped the ink on the corner, so I just moved the sticky note and sponged over it and created another angle of color. Worked like a charm.

  • Diane M August 8, 2013, 2:54 pm

Too funny that you couldn’t find the card! Sounds exactly like something I would/have done! Fun card I like both of them.

  • Sharon August 8, 2013, 3:15 pm

  • Elizabeth G August 8, 2013, 11:51 pm

Absolutely love the card idea, so plan and simple. Love the way you have put the colours together plus placed it at an angle. Also wasn’t agreeing with you that the brad didn’t really work and changing it to extra gems. Also I love how you added in of the lines at the end just makes it look complete in my eyes. Have to say I like the card in the picture more than the video, as the gems are more placed so they flow instead of looked rushed and not thought about.
