Masculine My Favorite Things Birthday Sentiments Stamp Set

Leave it to the CASE Study Challenge blog to inspire me again this week!  My step father’s birthday is on Saturday (and so is my 17th wedding anniversary!) and I needed a masculine card.  I hopped over to CASE Study and lookie what I saw!

My card is pretty different, but I was inspired by the graphic images on the card.

I pulled out the Tasteful Trim Die and some masculine colored cardstock from the Regals Collection and punched out some ric rac.  I’ve been seeing a lot of flags and banners on the edges of cards and I wanted to put a twist on it with the ric rac, so I staggered them and added a leftover edge at the top which I thought was pretty fun.

Stamping the small sentiments around the ric rac added fun and was a great way to add more birthday wishes!

I had so much fun with this design that I made a feminine version of this card  with different stamps and a fun twist on the greeting- you can find it on my Facebook page.

Stampin’ Up Supplies (unless otherwise noted):

  • Birthday Sentiments (My Favorite Things)
  • Cardstock:  Crushed Curry, Island Indigo, Always Artichoke, Crumb Cake
  • Ink:  Early Espresso
  • Accessories:  Tasteful Trim Die

Try this layout with different sentiments and different shaped banners (or even use stamps instead) and you’ll have a card in a jiffy!

Leave me a message and let me know how you’d tweak this card using supplies you have on hand.  Don’t forget to see my tweaked version on Facebook!

Happy anniversary! I do love this idea for a simple card. You could use lines of lace or ribbon or washi tape as well :)

Love the way you did the little sentiments around the chevrons, Catherine! Great take on the inspiration piece!
I want to also wish you and Randall a Happy Anniversary!
