My dear friend Maureen, from MamaMo Stamps, is the Queen of CAS and she teaches lessons at StampNation for the members.  Her lessons always blow us away with her tips on design…she truly is a master!  Recently, she asked the members what they wanted to know about design and the Clean and Simple Style.  She got a lot of questions!

Over the next couple of months, Maureen will be answering those questions, so make sure you are paying attention!  This gal can teach you how to STAMP!

Here is a peek at her recent lesson on “Arranging Flower Clusters”.

Clean and Simple Stamping

Allie asked,

“I would like to get some pointers for grouping floral stamps/leaves….
I love those one layer cards where there’s a lovely stamped floral grouping of different sized blooms
and leaves in one corner and then the sentiment is partially stamped over the image in black….
but my flower groupings never look cohesive or a nice shape,
so some tips on that would be great.

That is a great question Allie!
Thanks for the suggestion.

What I have found about flower placement is that the flowers and leaves need to be balanced.
Not only with each other but with the rest of your card design.

Typically I begin a cluster with a larger flower on the left and a smaller one on the right.
Then I add to it from there.
Here I added leaves on the left and to balance out the arrangement, I stamped my sentiment on the right.

Notice how the stamping just allows your eye to flow from the left to the right,
just like reading a book, right!

Maureen’s lesson continues from there to talk about tying the front of your card to the inside.
