When Life Throws You a Curve Ball….

You all know my kids are home for the summer right now (well, one is out for the summer and two go back on July 9th which is creeping up on us waaayyy to quickly!).  I got up this morning, did a bit of work on this and that, then decided I was going to make a card to post today.  So, I set myself to stamping.

It took me quite a while to begin filming the video because my kids just would NOT pipe down!  Then I I thought started thinking about how the ladies have been talking at StampNation about hearing noises in the background of some of my videos…the microwave beeping, music, planes flying overhead, and occasional children noises.  At first I was a bit….embarrassed, I guess.  But the ladies reassured me that a bit of background noise was no big deal for them.  It actually encouraged them that THEY could stamp as well, no matter what curve balls life throws at you.

Well, this morning, my kids really threw me a curve ball.  They would just NOT be quiet!  So….I went ahead and filmed.  Kid noises and all.   I haven’t edited this video yet, I’m guessing I’ll be laughing my beheiny off!  StampNation members, the video will be up tomorrow.

I wanted to get it up today, but then came another curve ball came.  We met Randall at the park for lunch, then I took the girls shopping.  Alana, especially, needs shorts for school.  Their shorts need to be down to their fingertips, although she INSISTS that the other girls in her class do not wear shorts that long.  If you haven’t been shopping with a pre-teen girl lately, I would not recommend it.

We did finally find a few pairs that were long enough and were "fashionable" at Justice.  Thank you, Justice!  Last season they didn’t have any long enough, so I was pretty happy to find them!

So, I didn’t get time to edit the photos and upload them here today…but please check back, I’ll be posting the card that I made this morning here, then the video will be on SN.  It’s a great CAS Father’s Day card for a bit of last minute inspiration!

Happy Friday!

I, for one, love the background noises! I can understand why you might want to edit them out. The one day I heard beeping and searched my house to find the cause of the noise, only to realize it was right in front of me while watching your video – I got a HUGE laugh out of that one.

  2. I agree with Debbie – love those background noises so please do not try to edit them out. :) Looking forward to the video tomorrow!!

Your day sounds exactly what I have been living lately, including the shopping with a pre-teen, a visit to Justice, curve ball, etc. They are growing up way too fast!

    Hi Catherine,
I have to say that I haven’t noticed any background noises on your videos at all! Maybe I just miss my kids being in the house…they are both grown and living on their own, so I think your background noise is music to my ears!
The moral of the story for me is: Enjoy all the little things now, for they will be off on their own in the blink of an eye!

Looking forward to your video (as always), only this time, I am going to listen more closely – LOL!

  4. I have definitely thought about that…especially when I’m at the pool with them. In a few short years, they aren’t going to want me hangin’ around all the time. THEN I’ll have all the time in the world for stamping!
Until then, we work it in where ever we can.
