We had an amazing and busy weekend! I hope you did!
We took the kids (didn’t tell them where we were going) to the Zoo on Saturday night for a campout. No joke! We camped IN the zoo!
It’s the first time they’ve ever done this and they plan to do it again. If you’ve never been to the NC Zoo, I highly recommend it. It’s a beautiful zoo with natural habitats and lots of roaming room for the animals.
We literally staked our tent alongside one of the paths in the zoo not far from the lions. We heard an occasional roaring throughout the night…pretty darned cool! We were also near the lemurs and they are pretty funny to listen to. Sounds a bit like screaming children.
We had a "midnight" hike with no lights. I don’t know if I’ve ever been in the pitch black like that and it’s amazing how well your eyes adjust.
They had a few crafts for the kids, smores, a learning program about the desert and an animal encounter the next morning (a Barred Owl, so beautiful!).
We all had a great time!
See you tomorrow with some stamping goodness!

Thanks for sharing these pictures with us. I love them, especially the one where you can see the elephant in the background. What a cool experience for you guys!
This is so awesome Catherine! Thanks for sharing with all of us. Were there lots of families that did this? What a great experience for your family.
